Abstract

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and the best outcome is for the righteous. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone with no partner, the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His chosen servant and His selected prophet—may peace and blessings be upon him, his family, his companions, and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.

As for what follows:
Engaging with the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the sciences related to his teachings is one of the most noble and beneficial fields of Islamic knowledge. Through it, a person learns about the life, attributes, and morals of the Messenger of Allah. The hadith is both the foundation and the ultimate goal of this pursuit. It is an immense honor for a narrator of hadith to be part of a chain that ultimately leads back to the Prophet of Mercy (peace and blessings be upon him).

Anyone who dedicates themselves to studying and teaching hadith earns great virtue, goodness, and commendation. This noble discipline holds a higher status than engaging in voluntary acts of worship, as hadith provides explanations of the Quran, revives the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and fosters emulation of his example. Even if scholars of hadith received no other reward than the abundant prayers for the Prophet (peace be upon him), that alone would be enough of a blessing.
