Abstract

The study aimed to diagnose the role of information technology capabilities in promoting organizational improvisation in gas power plants in the northern region, and as a result of organizations working in turbulent environments, organizational improvisation has become increasingly important in complex business environments. Real-time, which facilitates the development of organizational improvisation capacity, and the study problem emerged from raising a major question: What is the role of information technology capabilities in promoting organizational improvisation in the studied stations. For the purpose of achieving the goal of the study, the study adopted the descriptive analytical approach and electricity stations (Qayyarah, Al-Mansour, Al Sharqiya, Baiji First, Baiji Second) were chosen as fields for the study. For the study, the researchers adopted the questionnaire as a main tool for that. The study reached several conclusions, the most important of which is the existence of significant correlation and influence between the capabilities of information technology and organizational improvisation. The study also presented a set of proposals, the most important of which are: the need for increased attention to information technology capabilities by the station management because of its clear impact on the ability of stations to enhance organizational improvisation.
